Energy Price Rises – Why Go All-Electric?

3 November 2025

In the light of the recent increase in energy prices in the UK, this article looks at the advantages offered by all-electric heating systems. These range from the general plus-points which apply to all such systems, to more specific ones which apply to the Rointe systems which Doyle Electrical, electrical contractors based near Ipswich, supply and install.

This article is a three-minute read.

Energy prices have gone up again recently – a 2% rise for those on variable tariffs. While you may be able to offset this by going to a fixed rate deal, you still don’t know whether the Ofgem price cap will rise or fall in future, so there will always be an element of uncertainty.

One way of potentially reducing your bills is to opt for an all-electric heating system. Here we look at some of the advantages these can offer, ranging from the general (which apply to all such systems), to the specific Rointe systems, which is what Doyle Electrical supply and install.

The Advantages of an All-electric Heating System

Rointe systems have a number of advantages in common with other electrical heating systems, including:

  • Durability - Because there’s no combustion involved, unlike gas, the parts involved shouldn’t wear out as quickly. This means the system as a whole should last a lot longer – something to bear in mind when you consider the initial installation costs.
  • Environmentally friendly – there’s no potentially harmful emissions, which means you are cutting your carbon footprint.
  • Solar panel compatible – you can power up your Rointe radiators and other installations via your solar panels. Doyle can supply and install solar pv systems across Suffolk.

The Advantages of a Rointe System

Rointe systems have a number of features which are unique to them:

  • Their Smart features – these include the Fuzzy Logic Energy Control Technology, which constantly monitors its own performance, keeping the temperature within a 0.25-degree margin. Also, you can control it remotely via the Rointe app on your phone – this extends to individual rooms as well as the whole system
  • Energy-saving features – many Rointe systems have intelligent functions which are designed to maximise the amount of money you can save. For instance, there is an Open Window detection device which spots when a window has been left open (and why the temperature has dropped suddenly) and prevents the system from unnecessarily consuming extra energy to compensate.
  • The heating process – with a Rointe system, heat is circulated around each room evenly from the floor to the ceiling. Designed with special fins, convection is produced naturally, all without eliminating the moisture or the oxygen from the air in your home or business.
  • Environmentally friendly -= many of Rointe’s radiators are made of recycled aluminium, yet they still have an industry-leading 10-year warranty.

FAQS:

How much are energy prices going up in October 2025?

Ofgem's cap sets the maximum price that can be charged for each unit of gas and electricity. The latest rise – from this month until the end of December - means a household using a typical amount of energy will pay £1,755 a year, up by £35 a year. Households can calculate their estimated specific change by adding £2 onto every £100 they spent on energy last year.

How much money can you save with an all-electric heating system?

Although some estimates put the savings at around £700 a year, much depends on the type of system you are replacing, how much home insulation you have, and whether you are using any off-peak tariffs. Although the cost of electricity per kw/H is higher than gas, there won’t be any energy waste through the pipework as is the case with gas boilers.

How can you use solar panels to power a Rointe system?

Photovoltaic (PV) solar panels generate direct current (DC) electricity from sunlight. An inverter converts this DC electricity into alternating current (AC) power, which is the type of electricity your home uses for appliances and heating. The AC power can then be used to run any electrical appliance, including your chosen electric heating system.
